Economic Impact of OHL's Community Health Center
OHL is a member of the Louisiana Primary Care Association (LPCA), a statewide advocacy organization in support of community-based health centers that works to stress the importance of healthcare access as the foundation to building healthier communities. Every year LPCA works with Capital Link to provide an economic impact report on individual health centers and an assessment on the collective impact on Louisiana's economy. These reports are used throughout the year to educate and inform policy makers on the incredible value that Community Health Centers bring to their communities - by increasing access to healthcare, keeping patients out of the emergency room, and saving taxpayer money.
Based on the 2017 numbers, health centers across Louisiana had a combined economic impact of $653 million on our state's economy! OHL's FQHC contributed $18 million in economic impact alone!
We are proud of the primary and behavioral healthcare services that we are able to provide. We look forward to seeing this impact continue to increase!
