OHL Breaks Ground on its New Facility!
It's official! Odyssey House is moving to 2700 S. Broad! OHL and its community partners broke ground today on OHL's new facility, scheduled to be completed in early 2019! The $14.4 MM project will historically restore and expand the Bohn Motor Co. building - originally designed by renowned New Orleans architect, Emile Weil, designer of other New Orleans landmarks, the Sanger Theater and Dixie Brewery. The new 41,000 square foot, state-of-the-art-facility will continue the revitalization of the Broad Ave. corridor, while creating 45 new permanent jobs and nearly doubling Odyssey House Louisiana’s capacity to provide low-cost medical and behavioral healthcare to thousands of New Orleans residents – especially critical in the face of the growing national and local opioid epidemic.
OHL was thrilled to host Governor John Bel-Edwards, Mayor Mitch Landrieu, Mayor-Elect LaToya Cantrell, Congressman Cedric Richmond, Representative Helena Moreno, Representative Neil Abramson and several New Orleans City Council Members and Councilmember-elects, among many other important guests and supporters, for today's groundbreaking.
The project has been made possible by a partnership between Gulf Coast Housing Partnership and Rhodes Commercial Development, with Odyssey House Louisiana as an anchor tenant. Enterprise Community Investment and Goldman Sachs provided New Market Tax Credit allocations to the project. Financing was provided by the Louisiana Office of Community Development, the New Orleans Redevelopment Authority, and the Reinvestment Fund, with a New Market Tax Credit equity investment through Goldman Sachs and historic tax credit equity investments through Twain Financial Partners.
Keep your eyes peeled on the building as construction moves forward!
